Breathe New Life into Your Home with Spring Interior Design
Breathe New Life into Your Home with Spring Interior Design

Spring is a season of rebirth, and this energy can be brought indoors too. After the gloom and dampness of winter, now is the time to bring some light to your interiors.

In this article, we’ll be talking about all the ways you can elevate your home this spring. We’re not talking about large-scale renovations here, just some quick and affordable fixes to make your home embrace this new season.

Embrace Light and Air

Get rid of your blackout blinds and open up your windows to allow the sunlight to brighten the room. Clean your windows to let in the maximum light and to get rid of the winter grime. If you wanted to, you could always add some lighter curtains for an open, breezy feeling.

Remove heavy drapery and throw pillows and replace them with soft pastels, airy whites and new blues, which are soothing and cleansing. Paint an accent wall in a light uplifting springy shade, like lavender, mint green or pale yellow if you feel like taking on some DIY projects this season.

Finally, a de-clutter can really go a long way. Get rid of stuff you no longer use by donating or selling it. Not only will this clear up your space, but is also good for you mentally to go into a new season feeling fresh.

Incorporate the Beauty of Nature

Bring in some seasonal floral arrangements like fresh flowers and potted plants to bring the outdoors into your home. We love bright, springtime colours such as tulips, hyacinths or daffodils.

You could also bring in natural textures such as a linen throw, a woven basket or a piece of wicker furniture. Textural elements add natural charm and organic warmth to the room and are a nice counterpoint to the light and airy feel.

Pay Attention to Your Floors

Adding a rug to a room can make an instant change, especially when it’s a hide rug you’re using. Go for a goatskin rug with a light, natural colour and short hair, which isn’t too shaggy and adds a rustic element without making the space feel heavy.

Put one in your living room under a coffee table, at the foot of a bed in your bedroom or in a sunroom for a bit of boho flair.

Get Your Home Ready for Spring

When you follow these tips, your home will be filled with a sense of spring energy. You’ll relish in the lightness that comes from spring cleaning and you will feel your life energy returning – and that is what spring is all about!
